Voice Against Violence: Addressing Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children

                   Q3: BLOG #1 | 11/25/25 | OSAEC

Who protects the ones who cannot protect themselves? In today’s digital world, children are more vulnerable than ever, especially with the rapid growth of social media, messaging apps, and online gaming platforms. Safeguarding children is not only a responsibility of parents, but also of the government, schools, and the entire community.

The Philippine government has taken significant measures to address Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) through laws such as the Anti-OSAEC and Anti-CSAEM Act (RA 11930), which strengthens the monitoring and prosecution of perpetrators.

However, protecting children requires more than laws. It demands stronger community awareness, responsible digital parenting, and continuous collaboration between the public and private sectors. Schools must educate students about online safety, while parents must guide children in navigating social media and identifying online risks.
